When Should My Air Conditioner Be Replaced?
When you feel like your air conditioner is not working like it should, it can be very frustrating.  You want your air conditioner to work so that you can be cool and comfortable in your home. You might be thinking it is time to replace your air conditioner, but you don’t want to pay for it unless it is absolutely necessary.

If your air conditioner is not blowing cold air through your vents, it probably needs to be replaced. There could be many different things causing this, including the compressor or the blower. A heating and air professional will be able to tell you for sure if this is a reason to replace your air conditioner.

If you are having a lot of problems with your air conditioner and it is over 10 years old, chances are it needs to be replaced.  It is very likely you will spend more money on repairs and it will be more cost effective to replace the air conditioner.  New air conditioners are also more energy efficient, so it will save you a lot of money on energy costs every month to have a more energy efficient unit.

It is also recommended to replace your air conditioner if you do not have a programmable thermostat.  It is much more energy efficient to program your thermostat to only cool your home when you are actually home.
